Industry Associations

Industry and Trade Associations Overview.

Inceptor® Ammunition participates in industry and trade associations for many reasons. Not only do we like to stay on top of important, ever-changing issues, trends and legislation within our marketplace, but as propagators of disruptive technology in this century-old industry we like to stay on the forefront of effecting change to benefit our discerning end users. Inceptor also understands that participation in trade associations is one of the most effective ways, and in some cases the only way, to not only introduce these technologies to the industry, but also to ensure the technologies are considered by Armed Forces and Law Enforcement agencies, where they could assist warfighters and law enforcement officers to more effectively accomplish their missions.

National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 11,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers. For more information, visit nssf.org.

National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW).

The NASGW is the organizer and sponsor of the  NASGW Annual Meeting/Expo Event. This annual event provides an unmatched educational, marketing and communications opportunity for the hunting and shooting sports wholesaler, manufacturer and sales professional. The NASGW serves as a liaison with other sporting goods associations, including the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation(CSF), The National Rifle Association (NRA), The National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses, and is also a member of The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW).

SAAMI.

Headquartered in Newtown, Connecticut, SAAMI is an association of the nation’s leading manufacturers of firearms, ammunition and components. SAAMI was founded in 1926 at the request of the federal government and is an ANSI-accredited standards developer. SAAMI’s many tasks include creating and publishing industry standards for safety, reliability and interchangeability, coordinating technical data, promoting science-based decision-making by regulators and legislators and promoting safe and responsible firearms use. These efforts are conducted on a global scale. More information can be found at SAAMI.org.

Asociacion Armera.

Our mutually exclusive relationship with eXtreme Polymer Research S.L. in Catalonia, Spain led to our membership in the the Asociacion Armera. The Asociación Armera is an institution made up of Spanish manufacturing companies and import / distribution companies that make or trade in products directly related to the shooting sports.

The organization has the primary goals of achieving the efficient development and implementation of Spanish and European Union regulations surrounding the arms trade and urging the attainment of European harmonization regarding the C.I.P. Testing Bench system. The C.I.P. ensures that every civil firearm and all ammunition sold in all 14 C.I.P. member states are safe for end users. To achieve this, the firearms and ammunition are all professionally proofed at C.I.P. accredited Proof Houses before they can be sold to consumers. We believe C.I.P. Testing Benches should be used by Proof Houses in all C.I.P. Member States and those Benches should integrate their respective databases into those held by the Member States and sector operators (such as Inceptor Ammunition).
